I keep getting the informational message…

Message: Click Back and try a different finger.

Solution: Click [Back] and select a different finger to enroll.

Message: Fingerprint is too dry.

Cause: Either the skin on your finger is too dry to produce a clear fingerprint image or you are not applying enough pressure to the scanning surface. Dry prints and insufficient pressure produce broken images that are difficult to analyze.

Solution: Moisten your finger by rubbing it against your palm, forehead, or the side of your nose. Then try scanning it again.  Try pressing a little harder on the scanning surface. If these solutions do not work, try scanning another finger.

Message: Fingerprint is too wet.

Cause: Either your finger contains too much moisture to produce a clear fingerprint image or you are pressing too hard on the scanning surface. Wet prints and excess pressure produce muddled images that are difficult to analyze.

Solution: Dry your finger with a towel or cloth and try scanning it again.  Try applying less pressure to the scanning surface. If these solutions do not work, try scanning another finger.

Message: Move up (down, left, right)

Cause: Your fingerprint is not centered properly on the reader.

Solution: Lift your finger from the reader and place down again, trying to align the blue cross hairs with the red target in the image viewer. Do not slide your finger against the scanning surface to reposition it. This distorts the print image. For more help with centering your fingerprint,
